2022 NH Senate Scoresheet
Here we tally the Senate seats Republicans and Democrats won in the 2022 general election, statewide and county by county. Statewide: R 14 – 10 D of 24 seats. Senate districts cross county lines, so we split each district among the counties it touches; that makes the county figures fractional, and together they add up to exactly 24.
Seats won by county
How to read it
Map: one circle per county, its area proportional to that county's (fractional) Senate seats, placed at the county's population centre and nudged apart where circles would overlap. Colour shows the share of those seats won by Republicans. Thin lines are county borders. Hover a circle for its exact figures. Table: the same numbers per county, with the statewide total on top.
Share of seats won by Republicans
Fractional seats: a Senate district counts in each county with the share of its voting units (towns, city wards and unincorporated places) that lie in that county. Example: District 8 has 22 voting units (12 in Sullivan, 6 in Hillsborough, 3 in Cheshire, 1 in Merrimack), so 12/22 = 0.55 of its seat goes to Sullivan. Figures are rounded to one decimal.
Results: NH Secretary of State, 2022 general election (final figures); Republicans and Democrats only. County borders derived from US Census 2022 State House district boundaries. Unofficial.
