2022 NH House Scoresheet
Here we tally the House seats Republicans and Democrats won in the 2022 general election, statewide and county by county. Statewide: R 201 – 198 D (1 tied) of 400 seats. The large map shows the whole House; the two smaller maps split it into its two kinds of district, non-floterial (164 districts, 342 seats) and floterial (39 districts, 58 seats), which together make up the total. Every House district lies inside a single county, so all the county numbers are whole seats.
Seats won by county
How to read it
Maps: one circle per county, its area proportional to that county's seats of the kind shown, placed at the county's population centre and nudged apart where circles would overlap. Circle sizes compare within one map, not across maps. Colour shows the share of those seats won by Republicans. Thin lines are county borders. Hover a circle for its exact figures. Table: the same numbers per county; the non-floterial and floterial columns add up to the House column.
Share of seats won by Republicans
Floterial districts are districts whose towns are a union of other (non-floterial) districts' towns; they elect extra representatives on top of those districts, so each voter there votes in both.
* 2022: Strafford 8 (non-floterial) was a 970–970 tie with no general-election winner, so Strafford and New Hampshire show one seat that is neither R nor D.
Results: NH Secretary of State, 2022 general election (final figures); Republicans and Democrats only. County borders derived from US Census 2022 State House district boundaries. Unofficial.
