The American Regions Mathematics League, ARML, is America's big high school math competition. Teams of 15 are formed, in which all members come from the same geographic neighborhood. 4 college campuses host all the teams for a day of math. My regional team is always somewhere among the 20 best, but in 2017, at my first ARML, we failed to breach the top 10. As a morale boost, I constructed a small version of the Freedom Tower, with sundry "Win ARML" propaganda on the sides. I also painted this poster.

The background is the natural surroundings behind our campus. The green of the mountainous land is penetrated by the enraged red of a mathlete, desperate for victory, slamming the flag down that pours the essence of mathematics from its pole. Meanwhile, a crowd of warriors stands in the background, ready to storm forth and take victory. The galvanizing feel of the painting is complete by the "Win ARML 2018", sewn into the hills and reservoirs.

In the end, my team obtained 5th place. Looks like the painting was the cause of our success, because when I did not produce "Win ARML 2019" propaganda, we fell back down below the top 10.
